The Business Manager supervises and administers all aspects of the business and financial operations for the Sitka School District.

260 day contract.

Job Duties: Work with a core team of District office administrative personnel. 
Provide leadership and develop fiscal strategies aligned with district goals.
Develop and oversee all organizational budgets including the general fund and numerous special revenue funds.
Create and present all financial reports to the School Board, State and Federal agencies, and administrative personnel.

Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree (or higher) in business administration with an emphasis in accounting, finance, management or similar is preferred.
Five (5) years of related financial work experience required. Management experience and successful experience in Alaska school district(s) are preferred.

The Sitka School District is a friendly community located in the beautiful City and Borough of Sitka, Alaska. With a population of around 8,500 the town is situated in the heart of the Tongass National Rain Forest on the Gulf of Alaska. There is world class fishing, hunting, hiking, camping and numerous other outdoor activities that are easily accessible. There are five Schools: Baranof Elementary School (PK-1), Keet Gooshi Heen Elementary School (2-5), Blatchley Middle School (6-8), Sitka High School (9-12), Pacific High School (9-12 alternative). The District has 1450 Students (PK-12), a student to teacher ratio of 16:1, 200 full time equivalent employees, and an organizational budget of approximately $22MM.
