Please take a moment to review NOVAâ™s Annual Security Reports.General Description: The Supervisor - Business Office provides supervision of the Business Office at the Loudoun Campus and oversees the collection of funds related to fiscal processes on the campus. ⢠Oversees the collection and deposit processes, and ensures that the approved written procedures are followed when collecting and depositing tuition payments and other funds at the campus. ⢠Ensures adequate controls are maintained to safeguard the financial integrity of all transactions. ⢠Is actively involved in the process of resolving complex customer issues. ⢠Provides skilled supervisory knowledge of Business Office operations. ⢠Provides an extension of interactive liaison support for the Director of Business Services at the college staff level and the campus community at the campus level.Duties and Tasks: ⢠Supervision of the activities of the Business Office, ensuring compliance with appropriate policies and procedures as well as GAAP and Business Offices AR/CR ⢠Interaction with college leadership and VP divisional staff as appropriate and work closely with Campus Provosts, Deans, and Directors ⢠Performance management of Campus Business Services staff ⢠Carries out additional responsibilities and special assignments as assigned ⢠Interacts with students daily to resolve issues. .Essential Functions: All functions of the position are considered essential.
Required KSAs:⢠Knowledge of principles and practices of financial transactions and associated cash control procedures, automated accounting systems policies and practices, and general supervisory practices.⢠Ability to interpret and apply policies and procedures.⢠Ability to establish and maintain effective internal and external working relationships. ⢠Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing.⢠Excellent communications skills, comfortable speaking to groups, and making presentations.⢠Ability to provide high quality internal and external customer service and instill that desire in others. Possess the knowledge of means to assess customer needs and evaluate level of customer satisfaction. ⢠Ability and willingness to make (and accept responsibility for) independent decisions and the ability to exercise good judgment.⢠Ability to prioritize, effectively plan and co-ordinate multiple projects in a timely manner. ⢠Ability to think and work quickly and calmly under pressure, work to deadlines, and be prepared to work additional hours as necessary. ⢠Able to exercise discretion and confidentiality.⢠Demonstrates high standards of personal presentation.Minimum Qualifications:Associateâ™s degree in a business-related field or an equivalent combination of relevant education, training and experienceSome Business operations experience, primarily in Finance or Accounting.Previous supervisory experience.
