The Comptroller reports directly to the Associate Vice President of Administration and Finance. The Comptroller is the head of the Business Office and is responsible for accounting and financial functions of the Business Office which include accounts payable, accounts reconciliation, accounts receivable, general ledger, cash management, financial and management reporting and purchasing and contracts.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Preparation of Annual Financial Statements.
Liaise with College auditors and State auditors on various audit matters.
Preparation of Semi-Annual Financial Statements.
Other Annual Reports and activities.
Preparation of various reports on financial data and activities to State Comptroller's Office, the Department of Higher Education, Federal Agencies, Office of the State Auditor, uploading the College Budget to the accounting system etc.
Preparation of projected financial statements as and when necessary.
Preparation of annual Business Office budget.
Preparation of monthly revenue, expense and plant fund reports for the Board of Trustees of the College.
Assist the Assistant Comptroller and staff in implementing new accounting processes, policies and procedure and advice and staff on accounting procedures to be followed.
Check and approve journal entries prepared by senior accountants.
Timely payments of bills and verify the vouchers for manual as well as EFT check run when required.
Approve all purchase orders of the College.
Review daily/weekly/monthly cash requirements and ensure adequate cash flow is available to meet expenses.
Process College's online ACH/wire transactions to and from College's bank accounts.
Designated officer from the Business Office to verify and test implementation of
