Starting Salary Range: $60,032 (Class I, Step 6) - $91,169 (VII, Step 10) Annually Based on education and experience
Anticipated Start Date: Fall 2023
Under an assigned supervisor, regular/contract instructors participate in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of educational programs, courses and other experiences that will directly result in the educational growth of the students and support advancement of the vision, mission and values of the college and District. The department has a commitment to the use of technology in education and to the integration of curriculum between related disciplines wherever possible. It is expected that this position will help to grow the Business Office Technology program. This position may include a combination of day and evening assignments, online classes, large lectures and small seminars, and is being offered by a college strongly committed to the 'open door' concept serving a diverse student population. Instructors will be expected to perform other duties consistent with their faculty job description as stated in the faculty contract.
APPLICANTS MUST MEET ONE OF THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA:
Any Bachelor's degree and two years of experience in Office Technologies (including secretarial skills, office systems, word processing, computer applications, and automated office training);
OR Any Associate's degree and six years of experience in Office Technologies;
OR A current California Community College Credential that permits full time service as an instructor in Business Office Technology; OR
If you are applying based on 'the equivalent', you will need to complete an Equivalency Determination Form. This form MUST be submitted as part of the application procedures.
* Experience teaching a wide range of Business Office Technology courses. * Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team. * Ability to communicate in a professional manner. * Demonstrated sensitivity to and experience in motivating students with diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds. * Demonstrated commitment to the goals and philosophy of the community college. * Commitment to staying current in the Business Office Technology discipline, particularly regarding technology and software, and innovative teaching methodologies and modalities such as hybrid, HyFlex and distance learning environments. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office (latest version), including Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
* Ability or commitment to:
Participate in departmental and campus outreach activities
Lead a team of part-time instructors
Provide direction to classified staff and student interns in their work assignments within the department and work sites
Recruit diverse adjunct faculty and students
Assist with staffing and scheduling
Assist in equipment and supply purchasing
Oversee program management including budget development and administration
Teach medical office assistant technology
* Experience working with the business community, including the Business Office Technology Advisory council and internship programs.
* Experience working with credit and/or non-credit courses and programs
* Experience working with a cohort program
